Insurance Statement

I do not accept or bill insurance. I only accept private-pay, which is payment by debit, credit, or HSA/FSA card. However, I can provide Superbills for reimbursement with insurance companies when appropriate, but this does not guarantee reimbursement from your insurance provider due to my provision as an Associate-level professional.

If you want to know more about why I don't accept insurance, click here.

Meaningful Musings is a private practice that is considered an out-of-network provider. After paying for sessions you may seek potential reimbursement from your insurance. Depending on your plan you may receive full, partial, or no reimbursement.

It is recommended you contact your insurance about your plan by asking about your out of network benefits.

If affordability is the determinant in deciding to move forward with your counseling needs, discussion about a sliding scale is provided for specific situations or circumstances.

I only offer a limited amount of sliding scale spots on my caseload. If finances are a barrier please reach out! If my sliding scale spots are taken, I can refer you to another therapist or add you to my waitlist.

GOOD FAITH ESTIMATE

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your care will cost. Under the "No Surprises Act," healthcare providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including counseling services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.

You can ask your healthcare provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
